Birthday Series: Hugo Wolf

shameless self-promotion:

Please join us while we celebrate the life and music of Hugo Wolf at a concert of his works on his 150th birthday on

Saturday, 13 March 2010 at 7:30 p.m.
Heliconian Hall, 35 Hazelton Avenue, Toronto

wolf concert 7:30pm 13 March 2010, Heliconian Hall, Toronto

Naturally, the program contains many of Wolf’s stunningly beautiful art songs. There are other gems as well: a duet from his opera Der Corregidor and two of his rarely-heard short works for string quartet: Intermezzo and the Italian Serenade. I must say that I love the string quartets!! I am amazed that they are so little-known.

Not only will there be Wolfian music, but there are also door prizes and after the concert, you will be invited to stay for complimentary birthday cake, served with tea and coffee (regular, herbal and decaf!).

Tickets are $20 (Regular) and $15 (Senior/Student). To reserve tickets, please email tickets(at)birthdayseries(dot)ca or call 416-944-2655.

For more information, please read the following:

What kind of cake, you ask? Ha!! Come to the concert and see…. :-)
