Our vegetable store often has red peppers on sale in packages of 4 for $1.00. Each pepper may have a small flaw but otherwise is in perfectly good condition. Sliced and sauteed with onions, parsley, dried red cayenne peppers and sausage, they make a great pasta sauce.
Spaghettini tossed with the peppers is delicious and looks stunningly beautiful too. It doesn't need anything else to adorn it.
But it's good with grated Swiss cheese too....
