Until the universal ban on chewing gum is enacted, wads of it will be found everywhere. Yesterday I found some on my clothes and on an upholstered chair. Game over, I thought. But, I found a tip that actually works. I took my compressed air duster (used to clean computer), held it upside down, and sprayed it on the gum. It froze immediately and scraped off easily!!! Who could have guessed?!

I was about to reply (before reading the whole post) that freezing will remove gum. I would NEVER have thought of using a compressed air duster though. (I would have struggled to stuff the clothes into the over-full freezer or maybe tried running an icecube over the gummed parts.) How brilliant are you, MEF? Your method is MUCH more efficient!

I recently searched the internet looking for a way to remove gum from a cream coloured leather chair. Amazingly the one that worked was peanut butter.
