OOOOOOOOOOOOoooooh!! And I thought I had too much time on my hands. la la la

I like "motherism" which I will probably use, and "pantalunacy" which I will try to work into as many conversations as possible (not too many I suspect). Could be difficult to find a way to use "oophobia" in a sentence except perhaps at a fireworks display -- this must be closely related do "aahphobia."

Very cool. Next time I have trouble sleeping I'll give it a try. In the meantime I google searched "make up words" and after a little reading, I learned that these are called Sniglets.

There's even an entry in Wikipedia Sniglets

Wait there's more; a whole page of Sniglets

One that I really like;
Bazookacidal Tendencies (bah zew' kuh sy dal ten' den seez) - n. The overwhelming desire of most individuals to reach out and pop the gigantic gum bubble billowing from someone's mouth.

- Dataryder

Forget sleep. Two that I thought of while making dinner.... which are kind of topical since our neighbourhood was without electricity for 24 hours a few days ago. No power = No heat. Outside the temperature was -18 Celsius. In the last few hours before power came back on the thermometer in our kitchen registered 1 degree .

Furnicide
(v) What a furnace commits when it looses power and dies.

Furnimonia
(n) Inflammation of the lungs as a result of furnicide.

I hate to quibble (sure sign that quibbling is about to take place) but, isn't "furnicide" the common word for furnace killing?

No, I believe it is when the furnace attempts to take its own life.

(v) Suffocating one's mother with a matress.
