Hello people, what about a topic (could be this) where we post links to pages concerning travels around the word?

I begin posting a link to my images on plus613, they are not all travel pictures, but most of them are, and for the moment I posted some pictures from my home town, bu also new pictures I took in venice a couple of weeks ago:

http://www.plus613.com/uploader/mkcerusky

I hope you enjoy the pictures happy

[warning] the site I linked contains any kind of images, so if you move out from my own area (I am logged as "mkcerusky") you may find pictures you don't want to see.

Thanks for the warning, Michele. I echo it. DON'T go to the home page of that site. When I voted for one of your pictures, I was sent to a page featuring somebody else's boo! very boring yet unsavoury picture boo! . Too bad there are so many silly people who upload at that site. I guess there's no chance that you might upload your travel shots to your own website that has much more interesting links.... stomp

I particularly like this shot of the "London eye".
bravo! http://www.plus613.com/image/6260 bravo!

Did you bicycle while you were in UK? And if not, what would it be like bicycling in London?

What a great idea Michele. I'll upload some of the photographs fom my 3 trips to France last year.

llizard, I think cycling in London would be similar to cycling in any large city- way too scary for me.

Maybe I should set up a personal site of mines were to keep these images, I might think of it...

Concerning the "bad side" of the plus 613, I asked to change settings sothat when one votes no new images are automatically downloaded happy I hope they can do it!

I'm afraid that I have not yet got around to fixing the coding on the forum so that David isn't suddenly and inexplicitly logged off. (David, didn't you notice the flashing sign telling you to put in your name? stomp )

I promise that fix will be the very next thing I do after I finish what I'm doing right now (checking for dead links) la la la

I hope so too. It really is a bit of an annoyance.

David, I have cycled (under duress, I admit) in Paris during rushhour. It was - hmmmm - shall we say, exhiliarating?? I found that as long as I rode as if I knew what I was doing and where I was going - signalling firmly and making eye contact with crazed drivers - things went okay. Would that method work in London?

Today I added the following pictures of channel works in venice:

http://www.plus613.com/image/7138
http://www.plus613.com/image/7137
http://www.plus613.com/image/7136

And the administrators told me that they are developing an image classification system that should solve (at least partially) the problem we mentioned happy

I know there are lots of cyclists in London but I have no idea of their typical lifespan or the techniques they employ to avoid death. Are you planning on cycling in London?

I don't have any immediate plans to do so but it's not outside of the realm of possibility that I might one day. I bicycle all over Toronto as well and there are some who say I'm out of my mind to do so. (what they don't seem to realize is that I have no mind to be out of. whoo hoo! )

They updated the plus613 site, now images are classified according to their contents, so it is much safer, you can for instanca see the last landscape pictures upladed following this link:

http://www.plus613.com/gallery/recent/0/13/

It maybe the case that some link doesn't work well for the moment, so now and then you may still find accidentally some ~p~or~n~ picture, but they are workng on it, and it is much safer now. However I advice that voting can still be "dangerous" because after voting you are redirected to another image (I do not know how exactly it is picked).

See if you like these latest uploads of mines:

http://www.plus613.com/image/7317
http://www.plus613.com/image/7318
http://www.plus613.com/image/7319
http://www.plus613.com/image/7316

They have all been taken last spring near my home town, at Monte Argentario, Touscany, Italy of course happy

I added many images to y personal page on plus613, you might find them interesting, they include touscnay landscapes, anchient roman ruins, and medieval towns. All pictures taken by me or by my girlfriend during our trips.

I recall my pictures are at http://www.plus613.com/uploader/mkcerusky

I'd like to observe also that the site is much safer now, and for instance if you want you can browse it viewing only images that have been chategorized as landscapes. Of course because categorization is done with a voting systemyou might now and then accidentally find some unpleasant picture, but it is much safer then it used to be.

You can see for instance the top rated landscapes:
http://www.plus613.com/gallery/top_rated/0/13/

Or you can access to the "safe" mode and browe all the safe images:
http://www.plus613.com/gallery/safe/0/

I'm afraid that their idea of "safe" and my idea of "safe" are different. Perhaps I'm old-fashioned but I don't consider a photo of an airbrushed bleachedblonde girl wearing only a frilly maid's apron and mooning the camera to be part of the "safe" category. It's not that I'm a prude. But I am opposed to this sort of insistance that soft ~p~or~n~ be so pervasive. I'm guessing that the problem might be that the categorization is left up to the person uploading the picture. A normal person will categorize correctly. But some dweebs will purposely categorize those boring nudy shots as landscapes and think it's a good funny joke.

I think I'll stick to looking only at your pictures, Michele and perhaps not voting, just in case.
