29 March 2006

Just upgraded the forum to the latest version 2.0.19. If you notice anything markedly different and/or missing, please let me know.

Everything went pretty smoothly - or so I thought at first. And then I saw that I couldn't use any emoticons and that there were zillions of javascript errors. I FINALLY (stomp) found my mistake. The emoticons work again and so should everything else.

at last! at last! at last! whoohoo! at last! at last! at last!

Also, today (Thursday 30 March 2006), crosswinds made a security change to how the server interprets php (the coding this forum and the blog are based on) As far as I can see, everything is working as expected but again, if you notice anything amiss, please let me know.

I have just upgraded the forum to the latest version. I think it's all correct but one never knows what I might have missed.... Do let me know if anything seems to be amiss.

Wasn't there a "Spoiler" button or did I imagine that? I've never used it so I may be looking in the wrong place.

The goto page links don't work for me. I haven't tried them since before the latest upgrade so I don't know when they stopped working.

The goto page links? I'm feeling dense. What are those?

I've probably used the wrong name for them but I mean these things:

Goto page 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 Next

No doubt it is the correct term you've used. I just didn't even know I had anything like this or any threads that even had more than one page. More spoon-feeding please: can you point to a thread that has such a link?

In my browser the page links show up on the main page of the "anything and everything (within reason)" section. The earliest thread I can see on this page is November 2007.

The links David mentions don't work for me either. For example go to the " anything and everything (within reason) main page on the top right you'll see;

Goto page 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 Next

if you click on any of the page numbers nothing new loads (at least in the browser I use - Firefox).

Thanks, David, for pointing this out. The "go to" links probably haven't been working correctly for a while - in any browser. (Heh, my fault - I have fooled around with the coding - a little knowledge truly is a dangerous thing)

I believe I have fixed my errors and the "go to" links should now work correctly. (I hope)
