Recently our CRT TV began to show signs tube failure and we decided to replace it. It made little sense to replace it with another CRT TV. So, we replaced it with a mid sized LCD with all the connections for now and the future (eg. HDMI input). It works fine with all our current cable signals and ordinary DVD's . It is, however, capable of delivering full HD. As we have seen, the format war is really hotting up between Blu Ray and HD-DVD. Has anyone out there decided that Blu Ray will emerge on top and gone ahead and bought a player?? It could,of course, be the Beta-Max of tomorrow.

In my imagination I'll buy a player capable of using both formats but considering the speed of technical innovation these days I expect both formats to be obsolete within weeks of my purchase. In reality I'll probably be in the middle of the early/late majority buying a player of the dominant format when the price crashes to the level of toasters.
