Most people are aware that hospitals can harbour staph bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics. A recent study has shown that raw pork can also have this bacteria. http://www.thestar.com/News/Canada/article/348190
While this doesn't pose a problem with eating cooked pork, it does change the way we should handle the raw meat. Just avoid transfer from your hand (that has prepared the meat) to mucus membranes (eyes, nose, etc.). I'm surprised that this finding has not been more widely publicized.

This finding isn't going to change the way I handle raw meat. I can't even begin to imagine touching my eyes, nose, etc just after touching raw pork. (eeeeewwwwwwwwwww)

I always said that pushing raw pork chops up one's nose was a bad idea.
