I like Facebook, despite its flaws. There are some people I've reconnected with through Facebook that I had completely lost touch with. There are other people that I know more about now because of Facebook, that have become real friends rather than just acquaintances. I liked this forum too. The thr...

The Governor General's Awards in Visual and Media Arts - 2004: Ian Baxter Hmm. I wonder if he wrote that review himself. "One's first reaction on seeing it is to laugh aloud with delight at seeing so many sizes and colours in such an incongruous setting. The sheer fun and magnitude of it is endeari...

Here's some pictures of Dan perjovschi's "Late News" exhibit. http://www.designboom.com/weblog/cat/10/view/9414/dan-perjovschi-late-news.html Brrr. I'm not moved to rush to the ROM to see this work. Same with the Iain Baxter& one. I'm amazed it's even "art" by David's definition - how do they get aw...

Re: Definitions and Connotations

Frisbeetarianism is a common word? Isn't that the sect of Freemasons, Unitarians and Presbyterians that branched off on their own? I think their bishops wear berets instead of mitres. And I believe the Frisbeetarians usually hold their services outdoors in large fields. They're quite devout and sma...

When putting fuel into my car I have to stop the display at an exact multiple of 5 or 10 number such as 25.00 or 30.00. If I misjudge by even 0.01 I must go to the next acceptable number. Oh dear. What happens if the tank is full and the number is unacceptable? Do you start to fill someone else's g...

Re: Definitions and Connotations

The Washington Post has also published the winning submissions to its yearly contest, in which readers are asked to supply alternate meanings for common words . And the winners are: 15. Frisbeetarianism , n. The belief that, after death, the soul flies up onto the roof and gets stuck there. Frisbee...

!!!

It's
"fruit salt"
- from poking around the net a bit, it sounds like it is a common ingredient in Indian cooking.

Manjula's videos are pretty good. I'm not sure about the "soft and spongy" dhokla though. The Besan Paare sound more appetizing.

Here are some of the things I find myself doing, and try to stop. If I step on a crack, I have to immediately step on another crack with the other foot lest I get out of balance. If there are large tiles or panels on walls, I touch every one as I pass. I calculate the number of letters in words used...

... Facebook is immediate and short term and anything I post will disappear into the archives in a very short space of time whereas my blog posts stay around a lot longer and the archives seem simpler to access. ... For people who don't visit Facebook very often, it's just too difficult to find out...

Re: My Spam guard is working overtime on email

Contact FedEx Courier Service Agent, Mr. celin Smith I have often wondered if there is some sort of Spammer's Code Of Honour that says they have to put at least one capitalized word in lower case. (That is, if they're not following the alternate Spammer's Code that says the entire message MUST BE I...
