Ideally, chicken livers Maryland(ish) should be served on toasted pumpernickle or caraway rye bread (toasted bagels or English muffins work too). Hard boiled eggs and grilled tomatoes are also excellent accompaniments. But this chicken liver dish is also wonderful served on mashed potatoes with stirfried Swiss chard and onions, as seen below.
