This lemon pie is the best lemon pie I've ever had - even better than Lemon Meringue Pie.
It is based on a recipe in Saveur Magazine Number 50 (April 2001) - before they changed their cover design. I still can't believe they switched from this lovely bordered design to the current dull version that is exactly the same as every other magazine. (Saveur Magazine Cover Comparison)
The secret to the filling is that it uses whole lemons.
