On Sunday, 1 November at around 11:00PM, I was driving home from a rehearsal and was stunned to see what had occurred in Sorauren Park since the night before.
Hundreds of our neighbours had brought their Hallowe'en pumpkins, lining them up all over the park. We'd heard that people did this but had no idea that so many were involved. (We would have turned around to bring our jacko-lanterns to join the throngs but they had already been relegated to the compost heap in the back yard.)
I raced home, tiptoed in to wake Totton: "No, there's nothing wrong. But you've got to see this!!" He wasn't keen to get dressed and go out into the chilly night but grabbed the camera anyway and we headed out.
