Event: TGRWT #6 (1 Oct 2007)

Event announcement:
TGRWT #6 – Apple and lavender

They Go Really Well Together (TGRWT) is an event conceived by molecular gastronomist, Martin Lersch (blog.kymos.org). It is all about flavour pairing of ingredients based on their content of volatile aroma compounds. TGRWT #6 is hosted by Inge (Vanielje Kitchen), who wrote the following:

Colour Me Happy – I’m hosting TGRWT #6 […] [b]ased on the study of molecular gastronomy a la Heston and El Bulli […] Me, I just like playing with food, and I like unusual combinations, as long as TGRWT. […]

I’m already drooling and painting a mental picture with this month’s pairing: Apple & Lavender! […] [T]he possibilities are endless, so get your palettes out, and your aprons on, and start working on your masterpieces. You have until October 1st [2007]. Don’t forget to make them 4-D artworks: colour, smell, taste, and styling, and let us know how you did it.

This is how you can participate in TGRWT #6:

Prepare a dish that combines apple and lavender. You can either use an existing recipe (if there is any) or come up with your own.

Apple & Lavender guys, it’s pretty simple. Looking forward to a feast. See you at the party!

[Entries for TGRWT #6 are due 1 October 2007.]
