I am a member of the Crosswinds Cadre and have put together a few help files that you may find useful.
Since we got our first computer in November 1995, I have blundered my way around; I have learned how to make animated gifs and am gradually, often by trial and error, figuring out how to fill in the blanks in HTML and CSS (and sometimes even JS and PHP...!).
The internet has been very helpful - in particular: Net Mechanic, Web Design Group - HTML Validator and W3C.
There are several other tutorials written by my Cadre colleagues that can be found on the Crosswinds Cadre Website
