Re: FDA approval
Since the LifeStraw is not intended for countries with potable water distribution systems (eg. United States) FDA approval is irrelevant to its distribution in the Third World. Distribution here has already begun : http://www.gizmag.com/lifestraw-personal-water-purification-device/8442/ Sounds like...

I recommend a boycott of the program. Wouldn't want to become addicted to watching snakes.MrsBrown wrote:I was watching Paula Deen's cooking show today--it's like watching a snake, you just can't look away.

Re: movie: 3:10 to Yuma
However, in the 2007 version,
why did Russell Crow's character get on the train in the end? Couldn't he just have walked away? And why didn't he just leave when they were in hostile Indian territory? He could have walked away then too, couldn't he?
Assuming you're serious about t...

..... and 3:10 to Yuma
Hmm, I liked the Bourne Ultimatum. Last night we watched the Bourne Supremacy -- I confess it is bit more interesting than either the first or third ones. But the film we really appreciated this weekend was 3:10 to Yuma
-- a classic western with lots of chasing around. It's also a very inte...

I wonder if it's actually fear of lawsuits. There are plenty of things that are still completely fine after the expiry date has passed. I have absolutely no doubt that it's fear of lawsuits. I also expect the manufacturer would get off scott free if you died from years-old pumpkin from a bulging tin.

Law Court Transcripts
Here is something that is making the rounds. Subject: LAW COURT TRANSCRIPTS These are from a book called Disorder in the American Courts, and are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published by court reporters who had the torment of staying calm while these excha...

Terror in the name of Islam is being committed not only in London, Madrid and New York, but also in Egypt, Morocco and Saudi Arabia. Terror is giving a bad name to otherwise legitimate resistance in Iraq and Palestine. Such terror is our own problem first and foremost. It is not up to the West to c...

Re: firefox - what's the scoop?
I tried downloading 1.0.2. The "blank page" problem has not been cured, although it may be a bit faster than 1.0.1. Llizard, what's a "profile?" (as in firefox erased your profile)CAM wrote:I have just installed Firefox 1.0.2

Re: Unspeakable Tragedy
I am having a terrible time trying to deal with the mass deaths in Asia; how are forum members coping? Yes, it's really wrenching. I am thankful that so far I have not heard any news of people I know who have been personally affected. Perhaps you are feeling much the way I felt when hearing about t...

All of us, if we can or haven't already, should make cash donations to Red Cross (Canada) (1-800-418-1111), DoctorsWithoutBorders (1-888-392-0392)... As for rules you might want to try to break, why would you care? I would have thought the lawless would just go ahead and do whatever the...
