colours for dainties...
I just got back from a very trying time at a local department store. I spent at least an hour in the lingerie department trying to find biancherie intime (drawers, to be exact and on the crass side...). :stomp: I was NOT looking for white. Or light blue. Or navy blue with red and turquoise flowers. ...

Re: How do they do it?
I saw this on another forum. I'm floored by it. Very cool! But how do they do it? Smoke and mirrors!! Smoke and mirrors!!! And they try to confuse us with the bad music too... [spoiler]I actually thought that there were two different women... maybe two different men too. But that doesn't explain wh...

Re: Unfortunate book cover
While I was reading "Girl with a Pearl Earring" by Tracy Chevalier, I found myself turning often to look at the paintings on the front cover. I just finished reading a library copy of "Girl with a Pearl Earring". Luckily, it was the better version with the Vermeer paintings on t...

you already have some good dog images at http://etherwork.net/illustrations/frisbdog3.htm . http://etherwork.net/illustrations/frisbdog.htm . Could these be adapted easily? As it happens, I was planning to adapt one of those. But even when the animation is already half way there, the alteration sti...

Re: Beets
I didn't quite follow the recipe (have I ever?) as I don't like walnuts so I used pecans and I didn't have goat cheese so I used boursin cheese instead. [...] I made braised beet tops: Saute minced garlic and chili flakes until garlic is golden, add coarsely chopped beet tops. Stir to wilt and add ...

Fascinating article, MEF! Rose seems like a fine dog but WAY too much work. That IS a fascinating article. I'd love to see Rose at work but like the author's other acquaintances, I wouldn't really want to OWN Rose. :stomp: :stomp: (Where's the DOG icon?!?!) So many demands!! I WAS going to make a d...

I bet you could almost drink the water out of the self-flushers! :whoohoo: I'm not so sure that I would go quite that far... :lalala: I must say that I am not a fan of :stinks: self-flushing toilets :stinks: . I have spent too many minutes dancing around trying to get the stupid things to flush (di...

what's the difference between "grand prix" and "indy"?
This weekend, our back garden bird songs are being obliterated by the sounds from the "Molson <strike>Indy</strike> Grand Prix" taking place a few kilometers south of us. (Our next door neighbour was taken by his boss to watch time trials yesterday. They sat in the grand stand and he says ...

I've just checked the contents of my fridge and noticed that each individual egg has an expiry date stamped on it. Are you making that up?! The cartons of a dozen eggs each that we buy have expiry dates stamped on them, but I've never seen a stamp right on the egg itself! or test whether it floats ...
