Since I became a Facebook user I still visit forums with the same regularity. To me, visiting a forum is like going to a jazz club or custom car show where the discussion topics are mostly related to a specific theme whereas Facebook is more like meeting friends for coffee or a picnic. There is no t...

I have been blogging for about 7 years and although my blog is in the public domain, one of the main reasons for doing it was catharsis and self-reflection. When Facebook introduced the option to automatically import new posts from blogs I continued using my blog for a year or so but gradually began...

Made up words
I had trouble sleeping last night and whilst wander through empty forums I sat and invented some new words: dentcil (n) a pencil covered in teeth marks. missentomb (v) to bury the wrong person. commiserablation (m) to share another person's misery. moosturbation um...sorry motherism (n) the sort of ...

Re: Facebook - any good??
Personally, I choose to make myself notorious on the internet by using my real name on facebook, twitter, YouTube, etc. (although I do not reveal my identity here and some other places... and even so, if someone did choose not to respect my privacy here, I say nothing online here that I'd be upset ...

You're probably right. I worry my attempt at humour may have made me seem a little harsh. I have often regretted typ...

Re: Facebook - any good??
I used to be a member but quit after a year or so. I didn't like being friends, pinched, poked, invited and having people write on my wall. Altogether too much housework. Dataryder That stuff did get a bit silly for a while but it seems to have calmed down after I removed those "friends" ...

I use Facebook to keep in touch with some old friends, ex-collegues and family members. I have about a dozen contacts but we don't often use the instant messaging facility as we were using msn messenger before Facebook started. I have also set my account to automatically import any post I make to my...
