Re: firefox - what's the scoop?

... CAM, I loved Firefox0.8. It was quick and clean. Then I made a :stinks: big :stinks: mistake. I installed Firefox1.0.1. I found it to be slow and that it caused major problems. It suddenly and inexplicably deleted my profile (the ONLY profile). I have removed it entirely and am now using Netsca...

What level of detail do forum members here want? For fiction, the only thing I don't like is plot spoilers, and you can hide these with a "spoiler" frame. And I'm fairly tolerant about what constitutes a plot spoiler. For example, discussion about the Poisonwood Bible that mentions relati...

Re: Tea Biscuits

... Rachael Ray made biscuits from a mix (I make mine from scratch :stomp: ) I agree that biscuits made from scratch are better, and very easy. However, some mixes of this kind are really quite good and may have only the ordinary ingredients we use, but already mixed together. No added junk. (More ...

thanks all. Now a long way from Phnom Penh. Changed the password so at least people can't get into my mail or use my messenger easily. I think I tried all the advice you provided, and then just gave up in order to pack my bags and get some sleep before leaving PP. I hope newer versions of messenger ...

problem with MSN messenger

I am in Cambodia at an internet cafe. No one here speaks enough English to help me. I can't speak Cambodian. I have somehow inadvertently instructed MSN messenger to sign on automatically whenever MSN messenger is opened (or had a computer that is set to do this to people) I have changed the passwor...

Are you Australian? I didn't think anyone but the Aussies ate vegemite or marmite. Awful stuff.

After twenty minutes of painstaking disection I had managed to obtain about a teaspoonful of meat from each bird. Yes, I recall this, too. Not my idea of fun. When I go to a restaurant I prefer it when someone else does the work. I have a similar prejudice regarding fondue. Too many tiny pieces of ...

Re: Quails

OK, have any o you bold cooks out there tried cooking quails? I'm not much into cooking, but I love eating. But quails are not for the faint of heart, even for eating. I ordered quail in a restaurant once, but there were so many itty bitty bones that I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. ...

I have just changed my email to be plain text. :stomp: I guess I'm one of those idiot people (and clearly the one who answered the poll with HTML: what's that? I can change my email?) who is generally computer savvy but not about email. I'll do better now. I'm surprised that my email recipients hav...

Re: Aging Parents - do you have a plan?

I'm sure many members of this forum have parents that have had their "three score years and ten " which means that they won't be around for too many years to come. How does one prepare for this (death, I mean)? Is it possible to "prepare" at all? I don't mean to be cruel in post...

I have decided to valiantly resist the temptation even to look at the lemmings. Computer addicts must beware getting such sub-addictions.
