This morning the dryer started making a terrible sound. The BrownBoy turned it off and came to get me. I turned it on and then turned it off in that way that helpless technophobes do when they don't know what to do and then I called MrBrown. He turned it on and off in that same way. All 3 of us looked at it. The dog sniffed it to see if there was any food. I said, throwing up my arms in despair, "but I have all the laundry to do and we'll need some of it before it can dry on the line and there's too much to dry on the line!!! I know, I'll wash it here and take it to a laundromat." MrBrown started looking in the newspaper to find a repair person. In the dim recesses of my mind, I remembered that I had read or heard somewhere that dryer technology had not changed much and it probably wouldn't be too difficult so I googled "diy dryer repair" and this amazing site popped up.

The dryer is now happily drying our clothes, we've saved millions of dollars on repair bills AND we feel ever so smug that we repaired our dryer.
