Nothing on TV?
Nothing on TV?
As the number of TV channels available to me continues to increase, the number of hours I watch continues to decrease. I think I'm watching about 3 hours a week at the moment.
However, that's not including a few hours per week watching the TV shows on this site: http://www.tv-links.co.uk/
There are many complete seasons of comedies, dramas, Sci-Fi, and cartoons waiting to be watched online. (No need to download provided your internet connection speed is fast enough). Tonight I'm watching Father Ted and Star Trek Enterprise.

Thank you David! This is wonderful for me... Here in my hotel in Bangkok I get a bit weary of watching replays of similar news on BBC world news and CNN world news. I like BBC but sometimes need to switch off the news and the intensity of "Hard Talk" The one English langugae movie on HBO is usually mediocre at best, and I can't understand the Thai soap operas. (Well, actually you can follow the Thai soap operas fairly easily with out words -- there are a few basic plotlines often involving star-crossed lovers whose families disapprove. There is the angry mother, the depressed and brooding father, the mooning and anxious girl and her nonplussed boyfriend, plus sometimes the scheming and vengeful ex-girlfriend of the confused boyfriend. The venue may vary from wealthy urban to poor rural.)David wrote:...the TV shows on this site: http://www.tv-links.co.uk/

It's gotten to the point that I don't recognize the actors or names of the programs that are being advertised. And if I do inadvertantly tune in to a show, I find I just don't seem to care.David wrote:As the number of TV channels available to me continues to increase, the number of hours I watch continues to decrease. Is it because TV shows really are duller or is it because they aren't being aimed at my demographic? Or is it perhaps because the ads are so frequent that they interrupt any vague attempt at continuity in the storyline?
Cool site, David! Although... I don't recognize several shows listed there either. Has anyone else ever heard of "2 Stupid Dogs", "Frisky Dingo", "Hey Arnold" ("Hey Arnold" has gone on for at least 5 seasons!!!), or "Robot Chicken"?David wrote:TV shows on this site: http://www.tv-links.co.uk/

I was hoping by some miracle that the page would have old Masterpiece Theatre episodes of say, "ElizabethR" (the one with Glenda Jackson as Elizabeth I) or "Henry VIII" (the Keith Mitchell version made in 1970s) or "The Onedin Line"....
I hardly ever use this username any more. I usually use "ejm"
Whoa nelly!
Just watched David Chapelle - some BAAAAD dude!!!!!
Re: Whoa nelly!
This is great isn't it? I'm in the process of watching the original "Twilight Zone" (season one comes direct from 1959).MEF wrote:Just watched David Chapelle[...]
I missed most of these because, as a kid, we only had one channel where I grew up in Winnipeg. And it didn't carry all that much except Hockey Night in Canada and Don Messer's Jubilee.
With 5 seasons and 30+ episodes a season, I'm going to be very busy.

Don't anybody call, okay! "Cause I'm not answering.

Dataryder.
Napster Time???
This service just expands; as well as adding movies, it now has music videos and sports clips. How long before it is shut down by litigation over copyright issues????
Pretty cool while it's up!
